Victoria Pendleton was the only one to break the 11 sec barrier: 10.998. She was followed by the Chinese duo Shunag Guo (11.098) and Jinjie Gong (11.149). Olga Panarina confirmed her World's results with a 11.193 and so did Willy Kanis (11.289).
Simona Krupeckaite (11.337) and Anna Meares (11.338) put in some solid times, but it will be interesting to see how they will do against the qualifiers which where 2 - 3 tenth faster.
Kaarle McCulloch (11.447) and Miriam Welte (11.468) round out the top 9 which came under 11.5s.

In the 1/8th final all the faster qualifiers moved on, with the exception Kaarle McCulloch who got beaten by Miriam Welte.
